I Had a Dream Last Night
I dreamt that the Basques in Spain sent missiles into Bordeaux and in return the French bombed Madrid and Barcelona, and set up a wall of tanks along the Pyrenees.
The dream also involved lots of dead cows and walls of earth, but that's not important. Also, ETA does not equal Hizbullah, but it's just a dream.
The important thing is that such a thing as that would never happen. In every attack by a Western power on a resistance militia or terrorist organization (I'm not sure what to call Hizbullah) that I can think of, they have never attacked civilian infrastructure. They never kept civilians from being able to flee, and they never attacked places like Luna Park. Not France/Spain v. ETA, UK v. IRA, US v. Taliban, US v. Iraqi militias, or the international forces v. Sudanese rebels.
Western powers would never atack a country to get at a militia if the country is not powerful enough to take care of the militia itself. Do you really think Lebanon could have peacefully disarmed Hizbullah ten years ago? One year ago? One week ago? Not without a huge fight.
Israel always claims to be Western, allies itself with the US, and enters Eurovision. But it doesn't adhere to Western principles of war and the Geneva conventions. When will the West wake up to this and stop seeing Israel as one of its own?
