Iran's terrorist-in-chief proudly proclaimed today that if Israel bombed Syria, it would be tantamount to declaring war on the arab/muslim world... I guess suddenly, Lebanon is not part of that world. I don't know whether to be enraged, to laugh my ass off, or to feel relief.

Meanwhile, in the southern suburbs of Beirut, Hassan and co. hide behind the "poor shiite population" whom they "protect". Talk about popular support.... (more)

The only reason I'm posting just a part of this is language. The admins here are intolerant of dirty words (which is not particularly a bad thing)... I am fond of them though.

Oh and by the way... all this talk going around about settling scores later and now being the time to "stick together"... I say never. I can't justify standing side-by-side with terrorists, I can't stick with them. This is a nonsensical argument. I am opposed to Hizbullah, what they stand for, and what they do. The country is not united, and we don't need to present it as a united country.

So, stick together and settle later? BULLSHIT :)

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE WAKE ME UP!!!! I can't believe what I'm seeing on TV. I sit here, cacooned in my bed for two days, watching what is going on, hoping I hear echoes of someone trying to wake me up, and realize it has all been a bad dream, pack my bags, head to the airport... reach the Beirut I knew. I will spare the political talk - much of that has already been said. At this point, I don't care who does what or who wins what or who releseases who... all I want is the end to this. An end to this mess. An end to this madness. A CEASE FIRE. Just everything to simply STOP. JUST STOP! GOD SAVE AND BLESS LEBANON. GOD SAVE AND BLESS LEBANON.

Want cease fire? give us our soldiers back! disarm the Hizbbollah! Can't do it? Then cooperate with us to do it. Your government don't want to? so you pay the price. Unfair? definitly. You are a good person. You don't deserve this destruction. You want peace. Just like we always want peace. Even in 1982 we wanted peace, but your country hosted Palestinian terrorists that infiltrated our country and murdured civilians, including dozens of kids in a school.. Just like now your government host and even have 1-2 ministers of the Hizbollah terrorists.
Now, what would you want your govrnment to do if people from your country are kidnapped by terrorists that based in a country that not only doesn't do anything to stop them, but they are also members of the governmetnt itself?
Care to releas some murderers who will kill other civilians again?
I don't think so.
Right now, the people in Israel are furious on Hizbollah. And if you want your country to be free from these terrorists - you should hope that Israel will succeed to defeat them. In this case, you will finally be a free society, without being hostages of terrorists or Syrians.
Unfortunately, we, the only true democracy of the Middle East, still won't be free, since there are still people who want to drive us to the sea..
But that's not your problem.

Ramz, you are absolutely correct in concluding that the calls for presenting a united front at the moment and to settle the scores later on is "Bullshit". It is time to stand up for what is right and to have the moral courage to call things by their real name. Had we had a government that took its duties and responsibilities seriously then we would have never found ourselves in this mess. Say what you will about the Israeli reaction, it is an invasion after all, but don't forget the trigger.
What did we ever expect the reaction of a responsible government to be when we are directly implicit in violating its internationally recognized border, killing eight of its soldiers and then kidnapping two for the explicit purpose of blackmail.
HA instigated this incident on purpose. They knew dam well what the response was going to be since many Israeli officials had made clear what they would do if HA violates their sovereignty. Yet HA decided to proceedwith its planputting in jeopardy the livelyhood of 3.5 million people, causing billions of dollars worth of destruction and maybe ultimately hundreds of dead by the time this is over. Who is it the gave Nasrallah the right to act on behalf of a nation? I have no idea how the man can live withhimself with all that blood and misery on his hands and his conscience. He acts as a delusional hooligan and we are asked to protect him?

Lebanon has been at a fork in the road for a while. We have procrastinated and delayed doing the right thing . It is time for us to decide whether we are deserving of having a country of law and order or whether we are to be the poster for a dysfunctional state. If we do not take a strong stand condeming the irresponsible acts of HA then that would be a validation that we are not deserving of being a sovereign state.

It is not god who should stop the violence, it is you. Implement 1559 and this will be over.
