I respect freedom of cartooning, but my humble opinion is that this cartoon is irresponsible. It foments the atmosphere of fear and loathing. It suggests a disgusting vision, even if its intention is to warn us against such a vision. It reaches too far into the hypothetical, much too far from the reality of the situation now. It is a direct opposite of the Bustat 3ain El-Rumeneh cartoon.

Lebanon is bleeding, isn't that accurate? This cartoon does not assign blame.

Why so defensive?

This cartoon is irresponsible but the one below is not? (Rhetorical question)

In the cartoon I saw Lebanon as drowning in blood, not bleeding, the first signifying sectarian strife, the second signifying the killing of gemayel. I say irresponsible in that there is a mood among some right now that reeks of sectarian hate, with people itching for war, and this cartoon pushes the general mood in that direction. so therefore the bus cartoon is more responsible in times like these.
