Blogger meeting "Diet" number 5

It's was a dark thunderous cold night, full moon, wolfs howling and owls... owling? well, no it was only kinda chilly when the 5th edition of the bloggers meeting took place on the 15th of February, in the Glass Cafe (Ahwit Le2zez), Gemayzeh, Beirut. Nice place, except they forced us to play cards and backgammon.

Dubbed the "Meeting Diet" because the number was reduced to only 9 bloggers, all the others were appearently extremely busy. But the cream of the crop was there; Eve, Mana, Ahmad, Bob, Jamal, Nobilis Tobilis, newcomers Otter, Ziad from Tunisia and yours truly.

Mana came hungry for politics and didn't get off the subject except for telling us she's gonna be starring in the upcoming Kill Bill 4 instead of Uma Thurman, when Bill resurrects from the dead and Mana kills him Wushu style. The Shooting will take place in Laos. P.S. the sword in the photos on her journal is real and pretty sharp; don't mess with this chick.

Senior veteran political pioneer blogger/anchor Bob flooded us with extensive analysis of the local and pan-arabic political situation (that's what we needed, another LP), to finally get to the inescapable conclusion that the egg came first.

I was sick of politics myself but somehow had to take part in the derailed debate, just like Al Pacino in Godfather III; "Whenever I try to get out, they pull me back in".

Blogger extraordinaire Eve tried in vain to become interested in the politics, but later joined Mana to form the anti-politics-in-blogger-meetings-front (A.P.I.B.M.F). Eve also stressed that just browsing around in someone's blog isn't evidence he was there, so she advises leaving comments with every visit, even when you have nothing to say. Come think of it, it's an alibi that you were indeed browsing the internet if ever interrogated by the police where you were on the night of the murder.

Picture taken while plotting to take over the world

Newcomer Ziad from Tunisia gave us evidence of the existence of a single totalitarian party country in which progress and freedom exist. That's why there's no opposition in Tunisia, everything's good, why bother.

All in all, a decent meeting in the good old tradition of Lebanese bloggers, now the administration is trying to figure out some kind of new activity for the next meeting, anyone has an idea? hope more of you will show up, ciao.

hehe... well, I do feel exposed when somebody whom I never thought is reading turns out to be reading (fhamouha haydeh) ;)

But actually, I did enjoy the political debate; although it's a never-ending subject!
btw, I never experienced what it is like to be short until I stood between Bob and Ziad... ya wayleh! don't even try it!

LOL Bashir..
well, if you want the truth, It all started when non-blogger friends told me: "we've been reading everything that you've been writing". I don't really mind, but it felt like they were secretly reading me.

Jamal,
don't tell me, you fixed today's blogger failure as well? *clap clap clap*
