Oh misery, shame and scandal in the family!

A few days ago, Al Manar TV broadcasted a report about the failure of the Ministry of Social Affairs to give funds to some associations, such as Dar Al Aytam Al Isslamiyya, with a sob story about how a child's daily 5 glasses of milk were reduced to 4 because of this. The Ministry is supposed to help these associations through an annual budget allocated by the government for this purpose and is not meant to be selective about it.
When Nayla Moawad heard about this, she said that Al Manar must have a higher level of professionalism.
Al Manar retaliated with another report about the activities of the Ministry of Social Affairs, such as nepotism. It seems Minister Moawad employs many members of her family in matters related to her ministry, particularly projects that have no funding, with salaries up to 2,250,000 L.L. Photocopied documents were even shown to support their allegations.
This all the info I have available till now. If anyone has more input on the matter, please do enlighten the rest of us.

you can't have your freakin' pie and eat it too.

Al-Manar = Hizbullah. Hizbullah have their own social system in place. As long as they are rogues, living under their own rules, not paying taxes, and barely acknowledging the fact that there is a country called lebanon to which they should owe allegiance, and who's laws they should abide by, where they need to pay taxes and bills, and not create their own microcosms within, they have no right to criticize.

Not to say that I don't believe that there is corruption in the government... I do... ummm... Also, there are no hot chicks in Lebanese politics... that's sad.

I am glad to hear that AlManar has mellowed down. A few month ago it was accusing the "jews" of drinking the blood of children. Now Mrs. Moawad is taking away 20% of their daily milk ration. Major improvement in news reporting. Keep it up guys.
