To Switch or Not To Switch, This is The Question!

As I mentioned before, the more the technology advances, the more complicated your life will be. Yet, we can't but to accept the complicity and follow the advanced technology, and before we know it, we can't live without it!
Out of personal experience, I’m gunna mention the basic pros and cons of both the new blogger formats. This is purely upon my own tragedy, and what I have realized at the end of the process. Let’s begin with the pros:

The Pros:

The most wonderful amazing outstanding feature that the new format provides is time sparing. It is FAST, extremely FAST, once you click on the icon "publish post" (And I'm sure you all put your hands on your hearts and start praying till the process is over under the old format), your post is published! No waiting for the damn percentage meter to reach 100%, and no need to curse if you forgot to copy your post before clicking the "publish post" icon.

Another lovely feature is related to the "Appearance" of your blog. The new format admits that the majority of us are NOT web-designer specialists, and it gives you many abilities to improve, change and customize the appearance in very simple steps that every one can understand, without the need to know the weird unexplainable language used in web designing

If you have a blog that you want only your girlfriend to know and read about (or you want ONLY your girlfriend NOT to know about), you can simply decide who can see your blog under the "permission" tool. I don’t find that useful since by blog is public, but I can understand that it could come in handy :)

Seems like a great development, then why don’t we all switch? Well, as in everything in life, there's always a catch. So now I'll mention the cons:

TheCons:

Group blogging. It seems that the two formats (the new and the old) can't live together! So you either are a new or an old format, but NOT both! This is might not be of a great deal if you have a blog that your the only contributor in it, but when it comes to group blogging, all the contributors must be of one kind (pretty racist, don’t you think?). And it all depends on the administrator, if he/she switched to the new format, all other contributors must switch in order to keep writing in the group blog! I admit that this sux, but I was able to find a temporarily solution by creating a new account under the old format that I can use in this blog till you guys decide it's time to follow the technology :P

The biggest fears of all. I'm sure you are all wondering about blogging in Arabic. Many bloggers have said that they have faced problems blogging in Arabic under the new format, yet I tried blogging in Arabic under the new version, and I didn't face any troubles. But again, my blog is mainly in English, so I'm not sure if there are problems facing Arabic-faced blogs under the new format or not. As for my own experience (and you know what they say: "Ask an experienced guy and don't ask a doctor!") I didn't find any troubles in that regard.

The last "trick" is in commenting on other blogs. It seems the process have changed a little bit. Under the old format, I used to write my comment, fill in my username and password, and then I click "publish" and that's it. Under the new format, things are a little bit trickier! You see, first of all you should fill in your username and password, or make sure that you already signed in earlier in your browser, and then you write your comment. If you tried to follow the old system, your comment won't be published.

The Result:
The new format acknowledge the fact that we are NOT that informed when it comes to web-designing, yet we all want to make changes in our blog's appearance, and so it provides us with simple tools to make this change possible. The new format also realizes that the old publishing process was too damn slow, and some how they managed to make this an old story that you will NEVER face in the new format, simply write what you want, and click "publish" and you are done before you know it. But there is this problem with group blogging that force all contributors to be under one format only, which I think they made it so that eventually, all bloggers switch. As for the Arabic-based blogs, I'm not aware of the problems that have been mentioned by other bloggers.

So if you are NOT an old-fashioned guy/gurl, and if you are of the kind that likes fastness and simplicity, then the new format is the right one for you. But if you are the suspicious kind that doesn't like changing old habits, then you might wanna stick to the old format. But for how long? Well, as long as blogger.com allows it!

To switch or not to switch, that's the question!

I say switch, since you are gonna switch sooner or later...no use delaying the inevitable.

thx FaiLaSooF for this informative in-depth analysis. Maybe i'm old-fashioned with respect to blogger formats but I assure you that I'm not opinianated. I'm very flexible and may well consider switching if it's better for me and of course for the blogging community at large :)

There is one main reason for the unbearable traffic in Liban, traffi policemen!

Check it out, whenever there's a huge unexplained traffic, you will find a traffic policeman trying to organize the traffic! Some how, he causes more traffic jam instead of solving the problem!
