He is the friend. I just found this out today.

How about your friend? how is he doing so far?
Well, I actually spent the day with him today. He's very upset about it. He told me all about their time at the Lycee and how they would make fun of Basil because he was always so proper. They would call him 'his excellency' as a joke in high school because he would always be more calm than the others...you know, drink less, talk less, just calmer in general. And he ended up going to Yale and really becoming 'his excellency' in reality after Hariri basically pulled him into politics.
What's really shocking is the story of that fateful valentine's day...he wasn't supposed to be in that car for two reasons. I don't know if it's of well-placed propriety to tell the story, though. So, I'll hold on that...
I hope everybody's doing well. I hope things don't get out of hand tomorrow. I hear it's not looking so hot. Anybody have those PDF files from the Kuwaiti paper?
