Please give us our Khalid back

Update: Please sign the petition. We're close to 400 and counting. In only the last 20 minutes 13 more people have signed it. Also, thank you for writing those emails and letters...and for making phone calls if you did. Of course, it's a delicate situation. And I'd just like to reaffirm that my thoughts and prayers are with Khalid and his family in this time.

********

I know this is probably not the exact place for it, but perhaps some of you are US citizens that may be able to help a friend of mine out in need. I figured since I'm pretty good with not mixing things up usually that I could make an exception this one time. Khalid is my friend blogging from Iraq and has been put in prison recently. If you are a US citizen or even a concerned citizen of the world, please write either your representative in the US or write the Iraqi consulate (the information is below). Here's the post I put on the blog I made especially for this and on the other blogs I participate in and write. Thank you for your time concerning this issue.

Much peace,

Liminal

I'm going to go ahead and go public with this blog in order to possibly get a few more people to send emails, letters...and to make phone calls on behalf of Khalid. You may go here to get your specific congressional representative's number and address. Just enter your zipcode on the front page and you'll be able to find the information. You will also be able to find your senator's information there, too.

Here's the Iraqi government's consular information. The email is bouncing back, but keep trying and send hard copy letters to the following address. Thanks to Juan Cole for posting this information. I made this blog earlier, thought better of going out with it, but then thought if I could get even a few people to help Khalid and send some letters and emails to their representative, then it was worth taking all the possible trolling. Anyway, it's just the right thing to do in this moment of time.

Please give us our Khalid back.
