The loss of life in Qana was sickening. The steadfast determination to turn a human horror into political propaganda, regardless of the actual facts, is almost as sickening.
If Israel had fired that missile at a random building, I would be standing shoulder to shoulder with you, screaming for justice. They didn't. They fired at a building used by Hezbollah.
So I am standing across the way from you, screaming for justice.
Because justice would involve the trial of the Hezbollah war criminals who painted a bulls eye on that building, knowing there were civillians inside, by using it to launch rockets into Israel.

first of all, I'm not Israeli.
Second, claims of "ethnic cleansing" are pointless, and only hurt your credibility. Israel wants to ethnically cleanse the Palestinians? So why is the Palestinian population increasing? Israel wants to "ethnically cleanse" Lebanon? At a rate of roughly 30 dead per day (600 dead over 20 days) that would take what - a century? Two?
Mirvat, if Israel wanted to maximize civillian casualties they would carpet bomb Lebanon, not fire a missile or two.
Second, you say you're not an idiot? Fine - I'll take you at your word. So you should be smart enough to answer my questions above:
Did Hezbollah use the building? Did Hezbollah know there were civillians inside? Was there any way for the Israeli pilot to know there were civillians inside?

Any one who intentionally kills innocents is unjust. Yes, Hizballah, like Israel, are killing innocents. And yes, they are unjust. But, don't you give me "they fired at a building used by Hizballah". 37+ of the 55+ people killed in Qana were children. Innocent babies killed clutching dolls. Say, just say, Hizballah was among them. You find it just for Israel to fire where about 67% of the people that would be killed are CHILDREN!?!?! Like that is not equivalent if not more barbaric than "firing at a random building". And don't even dare to say they weren't to know that.

I need you to explain this to me, because while I understand it as an emotional response - because not knowing doesn't in any way minimize the human loss - I honestly don't grasp it as an intellectual one - because not knowing is relevant to moral culpability.
Look, check out my blog. You'll see that I've condemned Israeli attacks where I think they were wrong, where I think they were reckless with civillian life, even called them war crimes. But Marwa, this isn't one of those occasions. Please, these are honest questions:
How is a pilot to know, from 5,000 feet in the air, that the house he is firing at - because it was used by Hezbollah - has 1 or 10 or 50 civillians in the basement? Do you think Israel has super secret technology available to nobody else in the world that allows them to get that information? (I asked this on rampurple's blog and the only answer I got was "yes, they do").
You tell me how the pilot was supposed to know, and you'll convince me. If you can't think of an answer for that, please, come across the street and stand shoulder to shoulder with me. No, not saying that "Arabs are terrorists and we must wipe them out" - just that the ones who are must pay for their crimes, the same way jewish terrorists (like Baruch Goldstein or the idiots who planned to bomb arab schools in Jerusalem and are now rotting in Israeli jails) and christian terrorists (like Timothy McVeigh) must pay for their crimes.

Israel has released video - posted on this page - of how it determines targets: It sees rocket launchers and crew firing then fleeing to a building.
Or it tracks back the trajectory of a rocket and determines the point of origin.
The "means it has for knowing Hezbollah is there"?? It sees them, or tracks back the rockets.
Now how in the world does that let Israel know there are civillians there? Were the civillians walking around in front of the building, where Israel could see them? Or were they inside, seeking shelter that tragically would not save them.
It doesn't matter if there were 1 or 50 or 1,000 people in the building - as long as they were inside, Israel had no way of knowing.
You apparently disagree. So tell me what this super secret way Israel has is. Can they see into buildings? Do they have spies on the ground going "ooh, civillians here, bomb this place"? Or are they limited to responding based on what occasional surveilance drones and satellite tracking and imaging tells them?
To anyone with an ounce of sense, it's clear that the answers are no, no, and yes.
You don't want to believe it, perhaps because you'd prefer to think of the Israelis as monsters and murderers, and you'd prefer not to think that of Hezbollah. But your belief does not make any logical sense.
