Following the terrorist actions of the Hezbollah, which has reached the prospérite of Lebanon, the Israeli army will act in Lebanon for all the duration necessary in order to protect the Israeli people.
For your security and in order to avoid harm to civilian people who are not implied with Hezbollah, avoid being in places in relation to Hezbollah.

It is necessary that you know that the continuation of the terrorist actions against Israel is a double edged blade for you and for Lebanon.

Well Nasrallah seems. He must have dig a cave and hiding in it, as his fellow Hizbollahis are doing. The 'resistance' is supposed to defend the country but he's hiding under the feet of those he claims to protect. It is rumored that Nasrallah latest slogan is "I am beneath you but nothing is beneath me".

To all Lebanese residents

Following the repeated terrorist actions of the Hezbollah, which has reached the efforts intented on finding a better future for Lebanon, the Israeli army will act in Lebanon for all the duration necessary in order to protect the Israeli people.
For your security and in order to avoid harm to civilian people who are not implied with Hezbollah, avoid being in places where Hezbollah is located and where it operates.

It is necessary that you know that the continuation of the terrorist actions against Israel is a double edged blade for you and for Lebanon.

Assaad, I am not Lebanese and am not in Lebanon. I apologize if I have somehow given the impression that I was.

Now please answer my question. If somebody hurled a rock at a beehive and then ran and hid behind you while the bees angrily swarmed, would you be mad at him, or would you be mad at the bees?

Assad

First I do not care if you congratulate me or not, it is my opinion and i m proud of it

Second who said that i m grateful to Israel. Hezbollah is to blame; Israeli is only doing what they use to do. i like the bee hive allegory. Bees sting so stay the hell away from them!!!!
But it is no use to cry wolf when you stir them and try to hide, and blame them. Just stay away from them!

Bob : I agree that Hezbollah is to blame... But don't you think that the situation is very hard and all the lebanese must be unified in front of the ugly israelian action in Lebanon ?

There is no question of who is to blame. I hope people do not let their personla feeling or secterian loyalties cloud their judgements.
Hizb and Nasrallah are to blame, regardless of what their noble greater cause is, their actions are unexcusable.
this does not mean that if some one critisizes Hizbollah , they are insulting lebanese Shia
But hizbollah must get their priorities straight.
Again we thank them for liberating lebanon, bas this price we have to pay now for Hizb's delusions of grandeur is just to high.
No one is holy in lebanon and nasrallah is not GOD or his representative in lebanon.
The cannot continue to act as they cannot be questioned, or doubted.
They should come of their high horses.
enough is enough.

Hezbollah is to blame?
wow what a drastic change from most Lebanese, since they have always been cowards not to admit their hatred towards Hezbollah. So now that Beirut is on the brink of a collapse, the truth is cried out loud!
Hezbollah are to blame for everything; for the world's fear of Lebanese nationals, for being tagged as terrorists, and for the lask of advencement of their country. Overseas, Christian, Druze and Sunni Lebanese yell out how much they despise Hezbollah and would like to see them vanish. Well, do something about it... now that Israel is giving you a hand.

No, your beehive allegory doesn't work; in that equation, there's the human, and there's the insect. Even if you blamed the human, you would still feel no hesitation to crush the insects, spray them, do whatever it is to get rid of them. They're simply a mindless nuissance. This isn't the case here; as much as one might be compelled to think of Israelis as insects they are unfortunately not. The equation here is way more grave, and simplistic allegories are a naive way of treating it. There is such a thing as the appropriateness of the reaction to the action, and Israel's reaction is neither appropriate, proprtionate nor justified. It is ruthless, inhumane and barbaric. It is, simply put, terroristic in the truest sense of the word. You'd think a people who had faced such oppression historically would have more mercy, but I guess it is like the victims of sexual abuse: some just grow up to be the worst kind of abusers, because they know where it hurts, and worse still, they feel justified in doing it. In this time when the country is under such venomous fire, it is a pity to see all the blame turning inside, instead of being focused on that who deserves it, the people killing the people and destroying our country. They are not bees; they are accountable human beings, and we should hold them accountable. This is not self-defense; this is viscious aggression.

Where did you read that I am grateful? my brother is blocked in Lebanon and my family's business is closed. Hezbollah ain't my country though.I said that I care about civilians and infrastructure, not about HA thugs. Any yellow militiaman can blow up, after all this is the situation they wanted now they got it. These people love to die anyway.

I've been reading the blogs for some time now, and I have to say this. It's a little before midnight here and a little before 7 am in Lebanon.
Who to blame? I refused after the second day and after seeing the escalating Israeli assault at our beloved country to discuss this matter as I felt, and still feel, the time is for getting together against a barbarian attack by those who showed us nothing but hatred and blood. Later will be the time of a severe confrontation.
What I wanna say seeing all these widespread Israeli attacks at civilian targets make it look it's a matter beyong kidnapping 2 soldiers, and I stress soldiers. Hizbullah made a big mistake at a bad time, but this cannot justify the escalating and uncontrolled retaliation that our whole country is suffering from.
It's an obvious act of hatred and a horrible crime against civilians.
It's the time I just stand by Lebanon....by the lebanese....by the killed men, women, and burned babies...
I don't have the power to blame...or analyze....I'm so worried....so digusted....but so in faith my country will survive it...and we'll have better days.
God save our land.

Hashem,
It is beyond kidnapping 2 soldiers. Israeli north cities are under missiles attack from Lebanon territory and Lebanon government doing nothing. All civilian targets. Ironically, both the sides are under attack. Hezbollah bombs our cities and hides behind civilian Lebanese.
I hope it will end soon so that we all can rebuild our lives and live peacefully side by side.

Hizbo to blame, Israel to blame, Isrelis r bloodthirsty maniacs, unproportional respone, Hizbo monkeys, rockets on Israel, bombings of infrustructure in lebanon, ooooooooops there goes the tourist season on both sides, an so on....

After all that (and also much before), I just read that the Lebanese goveronment has refused yet again to deploy the army in the south.
Seriously ppl, what is your problem with rationality?
Let's say u wanna screw the Israelis, but can't u try to become a normal sovereign country for ur own sake?

hilal chamoun.... if I had the power, I'd cancel your invitation :)

this is an open forum... people can exchange their views in any way they deem necessary.

you can stay hidden inside your shell and consider it an "invasion" when someone else comments...

people make peace, it's as simple as that... instead of nagging and whining like so many others, grasp this chance at communicating with rational people from the other side... who knows, you might learn a thing or two from "dirty zionists"....

that said, I sadly must say that the Israeli reaction is in many ways justified... it's painful, it's saddening, and there are probably ulterior motives (that government's shaky status and their need to prove that they can be as hard and uncompromising as sharon and others before him?) However, you can't expect a stronger nation to sit back and allow hizbullah to roam wild and free with our government deadlocked and afraid to act...

let's see how this develops, but let's also keep up the dialog.

HILAL,
Speak for yourself, not in the name of Lebanese. My wife is a Shiite and she for one dislikes Hezbollah. Christians hate them, Druze despise them, Sunnis pity them but do not like them for less. Problem is the are the real "barbarians", that's reason enough for Lebanese to fear them and not stand up against them. Again, WHY? Because Lebanon does not need bombed MacDonalds or a repeat of the BARBARISM that occured in Feb and MArch in Achrafieh.

Peace be with you and as salam aleikom

As an Israeli I am happy to see there are modern and progressive voices in lebanon with whom we can talk, However it is not your voices but the Hezbollah's rockets that are heard in Israel's cities. It is time for you to understand that the concept of Hezbollah hiding behind your civilians and your goverment hiding behind the Hezbollah is unacceptable to Israel. For too long you have let the Hezbollah to grow and fester in your so-called soverign nation, now it's time to understand that this has a price. Let me ask you: If Israel will rename our northern command the "Militia of Northern Israel" would it be OK for it to kill and terroize you?? of course not. A soverign nation is responsible for everything that happens in it. It's not that you try and fail to stop the Hezbollah, you don't even try. It's time for you to wake up and realize that you will never live a normal life, never have tourists and a florishing economy as long as you let Hizbollah act agains Israel (military or civlians) from your lands. I know you are in a way between a rock and a hardplace and i have a sympathy for your plight but in the end it is our right and responsibilty to stop attacks on our borders by any means at our disposal.

it is time for your country to take brave step and control Hezbollah from attacking with no reason, we redraw from Lebanon as you wanted, don't blame us for nassrala that don't really care if Lebanon "her" paying the price of his ego, our "warplane" are not aiming to "her" it is Hezbollah that use "her" to protect him self, as far as I know it's the Hezbollah that shot direct in to our city's, we also have "her" that don't sleep at nights.
if your government will take the right step like she did or should I say you the people of lebanon if you force Hezbollah to move from the boarder non of this would have happen.
Israel is only try to force Lebanon to take a brave step that should have been taking a long time ago 6 years to be more prissily.

I am of Lebanese origin, and my posts have been relatively easy on Israel and harsh in Hezbollah. Yes I dislike them but:
Getting rid of them as you say:
1/ They outnumber our army and police combined.
2/ Shiites are 40% of the pop (unfrotunately breed faster than Chinese).
3/ We're not willing (yet) to do so by fear of reprisal on our life, nightlife, Occidental franchises etc etc.
4/ Like yourselves, we would need US aid to protect and maintain PEACE.

As long as (like your leaflets dropped in Beirut say) it remains in South Beirut, Christians area remain unharmed... then maybe one day, we can do peace like that idiot Gemayel was supposed to in 1982.
