In crisis, Unite

So, here we are. At the cusp, staring into the abyss. What choice will be made? It appears to me that most of the infrastructure has been destroyed and will take years to rebuild. The infrastructure serving 4 million odd Lebanese. This collective punishment is the most dishonorable way to undertake their war. There are untold consequences for wreaking their revenge upon millions of innocent people. We are entering unchartered waters. Not to mention the hundreds of innocent dead and wounded on both sides. The innocent are our true treasure. Sowing hatred in the new generation seems to be an objective. What a waste! What a shame! Shame on you! Shame on you all! Shame on all of you who carry out and sanction violence. The assymmetry which prevails in all actions Israeli, is lunacy.

It's clear to say that one the objectives of collective punishment seems to be to drive a wedge between Lebanese. If Lebanon wishes to be colonized again by Israel of all countries, then the splintering of loyalties are truly a part of the overall US/Israeli strategy to divide in conquer in the region. I've said before on many occasions I'm no fan of Hizbullah. I still am not fond of them for sparking this situation. Giving Israel the excuse to launch a cowardly attack on all Lebanese is not the brightest idea. But faced with such a situation, Lebanese have no choice but to unite. Unless we wish for the ugliest days of the civil war to return, we must help one another to get through such a difficult time.

This blog was created in a time of crisis to help unite Lebanese with one another online to see the exit of Syria and their influence. And now, it must be used to unite in outrage at the wholesale destruction of Lebanon. I urge all of you to maintain your composure and continuing expressing yourselves in the most honest way possible. We have an important part to play in seeing peace return again.

My heart goes out to all the families of the injured and dead. We will not forget what shame and regret has been brought upon the Lebanese family this fateful summer.

So, in crisis, UNITE.
We cannot let this go on any longer.
We cannot be manipulated any more than we already have.
So, please unite.

Peace and grace,
Liminal

"Unite" sounds good. But Kamal illustrates the real question: unite with Hezbollah or against it?

How can we survive as one when the contributers of this blog even can't. Come on people, get yourselves together. We all love our Lebanon and we all need to unite together...

Everyone's opinion is surely not representitive of all the contributors, and that is why each poster's name is assigned to their post and comments are enabled for those who either agree or disagree.

Please people, don't forget, the one thing that unites us all is our love for Lebanon. Let's not turn this love into hate towards one another.

Come on!

Warning Strong Pictures

These are the pictures you will see, only, in Lebanese newspapers tomorrow. yes, too strong & maybe non-postable for ethical reasons, but what is going on in Lebanon has gone beyond any ethics in any worldwide dictionary. This is what the Israeli raids are doing to my country, to my people. This is what they will keep on doing, under the pretext of "self-defense". Those are the terrorists who scared Ehud Olmert. A moment of silence, a prayer and a call for all those who care still about humanity to wake up!!
