A New Hizb
I shall call for a press conference on Saturday to announce the formation of this new hizb.
(For those who do not understand Arabic, I am starting a new political party called 2arraftouna, loosely meaning “you have sickened us” and the slogan loosely translate to “leave us alone already … we want to live”)
Also, I need a logo for the hizb, so I declare an open competition for who can design a logo for this new hizb. Competition ends Friday at midnight, Beirut time).
UPDATE: Apparently there already is a hizb called 2arraftouna so now the competition is open for name proposals as well... please let them remain respectable and along the lines of 2arraftouna/zaha2touna etc.
UPDATE 2: We also need a song for this hizb. So also another competition for lyrics. Keep in mind, person who might sing it and seems like a possible candidate to join the hizb is Melhem Barakat ;)
Deadline for this project remains Friday night at midnight. yalla where is the Lebanese creativity at?!

What about Hariri, Jumblatt and some other 14th march leaders as your logo? Would fit the title perfectly, I believe :-)
I think the best logo would be a fist with the middle finger up. :P.

I had posted this new Party on my blog, and created a slideshow for it on YouTube.
The idea was actually from Hanady, and she had suggested a "Middle Finger" logo. I have another version of a logo that I could email you later, if you want.
In any case, prepare to take some real flak. Many comments and messages were rabidly vitriolic, and some emails I would not care to mention...
It seems the Sheeps are in a fighting mood.

Why not merging the parties?
Araftouna would focus on libertarian policies, and Zaha'touna would be Anarchist. The merged party would be Libertarian-Anarchist...
Together, we can all bring down the entire Lebanese political spectrum, and beyond... I wouldn't us exporting some of the Lebanese malaise to our neighbours, except maybe the meditteranean; it's been our best neighbour since forever.
ah rabie and jeha, if you wait for the press conference on saturday u will change your minds. on saturday, at the press conference i will present the party's manifesto

Am I late?
I suggest the Lebanese flag for logo and flag, and Lebanon, or even Lebnen (bi kell el leghet) as name of the party. No one seems to care about these two these days, so let's just grab the opportunity and go with it. If history does really repeat itself, let's repeat the History of the great nation that created a country, a flag and a national anthem way back when, and let's stick to it this time "ila abad al abidin" (forever and ever)!
