Latest Meetup Report

The Lebanese bloggers chose a balmy Saturday afternoon to hold their now traditional meetup in Hamra's De Prague. It was a time for reuniting with old faces and meeting new ones. It was also a time for discovery: J LO and Ben Affleck were close friends of Jamal, the history lover; Hilal is a Mexican who does not speak Spanish and who eats French yogurt with salt; Mysterious Eve has become The-Not-So-Mysterious-Anymore-Eve; Amal, the cartoonist who is actually a biologist, also has a wonderful voice (yes, yes, she sang to us!…3an jadd WOW!); Fouad, who had a bad experience with Ethiopian food, is almost historic…i.e. he still has ten years to reach that stage (so now he's pre-historic? :D); Bob can teach you a lesson on spray painting and car chases by night; Mana and Ahmad compete with each other for the title of "most quiet blogger during a meetup". Among the other interesting things you can learn over a cup of coffee: when you have a few drinks before hitting the road, you never have an accident, but the night you are sober, you are sure to crash your car; you have to leave comments each time you visit a blog, or else the Eve police will come after you; you'll almost get arrested if you take photographs in the streets of Beirut or even go up on the roof of your own house; the Phoenicians did not invent the alphabet; Dana's "Ana Dandan" makes Haifa Wehbe look like a lady with her "Wawa". Before parting, we agreed that the next meetup should involve some kind of community service. Till then take care everyone, and do (not!) drink and drive!

question: "did you all secretly convened & agreed I should be stuck with the "comment police" adjective, like forever :)"? (Jamal: tsk, tsk, tsk)
btw, don't forget to check amal's version of the meeting:
