Conversation with Dad
Dad: Something odd happened yesterday night.
Me: What happened?
Dad: I was up at about 3:00 AM watching the news, when I heard a very loud noise outside.
Me: An explosion?
Dad: No, it sounded like a car accident. So I go out on the balcony to see what happened. You know the brown building just opposite ours?
Me: The furnished apartments?
Dad: Yeah. Someone jumped off that building
Me: You mean someone committed suicide?
Dad: Yeah. Apparently.
Me: Who? Do we know him?
Dad: No, he moved in a couple of months ago.
Dad: He fell on the roof of a taxi cab.
Dad: The owner of the car came out. He started howling insults at the dead body. The guy completely wrecked his car. You know the school at the end of the street?
Me: Yeah sure.
Dad: It’s full of refugees now. Some of them came to look at the scene. They stared for a while then went away. The ambulance took a while to get here and remove the body. I guess they’re busy.
Me: I think he chose a wrong time to commit suicide.
Dad: Yes I think so too.
Dad: So how is everything? Are you eating well?
Me: Yeah. I am.
