Franz Ferdinand in Byblos

A break from politics. (hope that's ok, admin!)

Franz Ferdinand are set to play in the Byblos Music Festival. Personally, I don't really know the band, but they're all the rage these days, and I'm happy for my home town. Yay Byblos.

Set in and around the beautiful crusader castle, and spilling over into the old cobbled streets and the ancient Phoenician port, the Byblos festival draws an eclectic group of artists, as varied as the history of Byblos itself. One can stroll down the old streets, and catch shows by upcoming musicians, scattered around the place, every night for the entire duration of the festival. For free! In addition to that, the weekend nights carry the big name artists who take center stage. A beautiful event in a beautiful town.

The Byblos Festival has it all, music to please any taste, a setting rarely surpassed, and the glorious mediterranean atmosphere, it's no wonder the festival is the coolest, and quickly becoming the most popular one in Lebanon (and erego, the region).

Of course it's okay to take a break from politics. We never said it's a political blog in the first place :-)

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!!! I'm gonna go. ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!
You are all stuck in your bourgeois American/Canadian paradise commenting on us. But finally we get to have a one up on you.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
And just wait for when the Beiteddine and Baalbak festival schedules come out. Wait for what Radio One, Mix FM, 99 FM, Bacardi, and all the beaches (la Voile Bleu, La Guava, Edde Sands) decide to host.
We will be gorging ourselves on sun, music, celebrity, heaving and sweating beautifully tanned and heavily oiled light-brown thin voluptuous bodies swaying, thumping, and throbbing to the beats with Lebanese flags in our hands.
You will be sitting at your computers next to fat North Americans eating donuts, guzzling petrol, watching Fox News, and getting excited when the new Walmart opens.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!
We finally get our one up.

Well... I live in Austin, TX which is a dumphole most of the time... except for our September music festival!
If you want to check out the schedule and drool:

There will be sun, cool people, pot ahoy, and a ton of great bands including Franz Ferdinand (who were here last year anyway), Coldplay, the Arcarde Fire, and tons and tons of other cool stuff.
And the nearest Wal-Mart is a ways out there.
