What is this?

What the fuck is this? HUH?! WHAT THE FUCK... IS THIS?? If I were God I'd throw a tantrum, fly into Aoun's office and throw this picture in his face, slap him silly and leave him on the ground crying in a girly ballerina dress, then I'd fly over Lebanon, shout so loud until Haifa's boobs explode. Saad would look up to me and ask "But, about my dad?" I'd growl at him and he will run behind Nazek and clutch her apron. I'd strike Junblat's hair with a lightning bolt. His big eyes will look once to the left, and once to the right, then his charred stick figure would run inside wailing. The land along the Lebanese borders will crack, and I, in a torrential storm, will push Lebanon into the sea, wring my hands, fly into deep space, and sulk from Humanity for another 20 centuries. That's how angry this picture makes me feel.

Shoot, now you have opened this up for comments from Marsden on how the only guys worth anything are Hizbullah and everyone else, are zionist, imperialist capitalists, or fascist war criminals...

Satire people, satire. But I never did buy the 'generale' persona anyway. Like everyone else inside this picture and outside, he's politicking.

If the unintended consequence for this is to invite comments from nihilistic arabist/ leftist/ firstworld-raised-thirdworldists/ anti-zionist/ self-righteous-ists/ abou-khalil-groupies-ists then so be it. I don't care. This picture is no less absurd than Lebanese politics anyway.

I'll stay in exile for 15 more years and say that you were all wrong when I come back.

I'm getting flamed on my blog just for saying it like it is.
Aounists are still silent with you, they must be preparing something big.
Be afraid Firas. Be very afraid....

BOO!

Ramzi, I'm with ya. Firas, if nothing else, you have all the right to feel that way...

In my opinion, Aoun has all the right to aly with the devil himself (as long as the devil is not pro-hizballah ;) that's for you, dan)....what I dislike is the fact that he thinks he can still adopt his holier-than-thou attitude, while politicking like everyone else...

that said, a parliamentary bloc that can face up to hariri/jumblat/hizballah or any other bloc is not exactly bad....

Dear Firas, (and i mean that in the sincerest of ways buddy)
I am quite surprised and do not seem to understand your fury and anger. Haven't you always told me that it is wrong to label people as traitors and sinners just because they do not agree with your political ideals, isn't that what was used by some people against Harriri just before he was murdered... Or should we prosecute and kill Franjieh and Karameh, just because they were interior minister and prime minister when Harriri was killed... should we also kill El-Sabe3 and Mikati because they were in power when Kassir was killed?!?!?! I say we KILL THEM ALL... just SLAUGHTER EVERYBODY that was in power when Harriri was killed.... WOUHOUUUUUUUUUUU... but wait a minute isn't that the same fachism we are trying to fight...
How about this approach: We wait for the international inquiry and if they are responsible for any crime then we prosecute them for it... until then let us not try to isolate arbitrary people we do not like like the "true opposition" (composed of Harriri - Jumblat - Kornet Chehwan - Berri - Huzballah) tried to isolate the "GENERAL"... and let us refrain from writting inflamatory but very cute(i must say) blog posts... They call themselves the "TRUE OPPOSITION"?!?!?!?!?!??! What the fuck is this? HUH?! WHAT THE FUCK... IS THIS?? If I were God...
Just one more thought: aren't the people of the north going to vote this sunday?!?! I got an idea! let them decide on what is acceptable and what is infurriating...

To Firas: We will discuss this more on our roadtrip next week

Dear hisham... aounak is either a politician, or jayi min allah.

In case of the first, then he can ally himself with whomever he pleases...

But since he seems to place himself in the second category, then he's not allowed the same liberties as politicians. Even if his opponents make questionable alliances (to say the least), that doesn't mean that it's ok for him to do the same and still claim to be god's gift to democracy, honesty, patriotism, etc...Enno, baddo minnon w tfoo 3aleyon ya3ne?

How about this: MTV was shut down because of their extremely pro-Aoun stances, showing the footage of security forces attacking students, airing the General's statements, etc... They paid the price. The general then runs WITH Michael el Murr, the person responsible for those transgressions, the person who put countless FPM youth behind bars, or sent them home bloodied up.

The dear general tried denying that at first, but eventually just admitted that they were allied. That's not honest, that's politics. As long as you call it that, I don't have a qualm with him (or Aounists, in general, whom I personally hold in the highest regard)... But if he wants to maneuver like everyone else and still claim he's better, then he might as well dream on...

Boukra bidoob el talej w bi bayyen el kh....

ya Tempest, your proverbs are beautiful...
but your analysis, even worst...
Aounak jayyi min allah for sure... This is why there is the theme of forgiveness in his actions. FORGIVENESS ?!?!?! what does that have to do with Allah? Well GOD is all about forgiveness...

and isma7li illak kamen, iza ma fi iz3aj... the MTV was closed because Gaby El-Murr ran against Misho... not because of Aoun... another fact is that Gaby was Misho's campain manager in 1996... the feud is a family feud over power between two brothers, especially that Misho tried to gain control of MTV from Gaby before they split ways... then Gaby used anything that was anti-Misho against his brother including the "TAYYAR"... aaaand, i think it was Gaby who allied himself with Pierre Gmayel and Nassib, against the General I might add...

returning to the Forgivness talk, when Tararatata General came to Lebanon, he tried to make peace with everyone that had prosecuted him for the past 15 years... and please allow me to reiterate what the General has said time and time again... they are ALL responsible for the 7 August beatings, the prosecution of the General, the collaboration with the Syrian Intelligence, etc... and by ALL i mean each and every individual or group of people that were in office during the time these moronic acts were committed... you cannot be a president or prime minister or minister or a high ranking security officer and claim not to be guilty of these hideous acts... The Vatican is still being blamed 60 years later for not having intervened to stop the holocausts... and please do not the stupid argument that General Aoun is then a Jew in the same way that he was quoted as saying "I am Alexander The Great" just because he had cited a historic event...

Aounak jayyi min Allah

Tempest, buddy, give it a rest.
You will tire of this much sooner than he will and even if that happens someone else will jump into the fold.

Hisham:
Aoun jiyeh min alla. I truly believe it. But like every prophet, he needs to be persecuted and shunned by his people before they realize their mistake. And his forgiveness... so typical of God's messenger. I can see that now. It's all so clear...

Ramzi ...
Hisham is right ... Aoun jiyeh min alla and YOU know it! And tempest knows it too ...
Akid!

W ana kamen jeyi mina allah ... w entou kamen w jumblat wel hariri w michel el Murr w Boutrous Boutrous Ghali kellna jeyin min allah .. la' ?

:-p

PS Firas I wish you guys could allow anonymous comments for when I want to make a terribly stupid and silly statement like this one and get away with it. Thank you.

but I have to be a little skeptical about the "Jumblatt jayye min allah" thingy...

You guys, I'm not an angry person. Really. I just read my post and your comments again and realized that I love everyone including our own Lebanese Napoleon and his devout short hairy bald follower Hisham (hisham is ma man, ma homey, and believe me you'd rather argue with him until you get carpel tunnel syndrome, than see him with his shirt off. I had to cauterize the parts of my brain where that image is stored). Paul Oakenfold is God w ma7ada jayi min 3ando. Dang I need to light some incense. Somebody post something else and push this hideous post from the top of the blog.
