The Media & The Aounists

I don't think I need to get into details of this story... the pictures on the following links can easily tell you the story.

http://www.e46toronto.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=4069 (this was posted november 2005 and notice the license plate...north carolina)

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/02/07/bmw_auction/ (this was posted February 2006 and pictures were made to look like it was in Ireland)

http://www.tayyar.org/tayyar/articles.php?article_id=10991&type=news (this was posted a couple of days ago... same pictures as the previous ones and the following is an official statement http://www.10452lccc.com/fpm.canada/fpm.bayan10.3.06.htm)

Now the question is ... would you trust Aoun as a President? Would you even trust him to own some sort of media... such at the TV station he is planning on opening? Lie, lies, lies...

Thanks 3ajib

Great post, this is hilarious. At least Tayyar has a sense of humor. I love the details: somewhere in a Canadian province, 2 guys that used to be in an un-named student org. in lebanon, 2 incidents already this month, the local are horrified... great stuff. They should start a supermarket tabloid. I say an alien from outerspace dressed as Elvis did it.

leblob... if you ever read my blog you would notice that I do question other politicians lies and/or intentions.

It is true that the FPM do not have media at the moment but Orange TV is coming up. Is this how they would be working on Orange TV as well?

Once again, I am not defending others, but my point was that the FPM represented by Aoun are just as bad as any other political party today. I am not convinced and that's that. Therefore, in my opinion, no it's not silly to throw this back on Aoun. Also, what I wish is fashionable nowadays is not to follow names... have those names follow you.

There is something I find striking! Every time i have an argument with an Aounist he says: yes we did that but look at the others and see what they have done!!!
I do not care what the others have done. They are a bunch of Lebanese politicians that only care for their own interests, they lie deceive and do whatever they need to forward their own interests. However, the FPM has always considered itself (and Aoun at most of all) as beyond any criticism. In short holier than thou. So please no more comparison and no more defending them beyond reason. Just say they are as bad as everybody else and they made and make and will make mistakes. And I will be satisfied! Remember THEY ARE NO BETTER THAN ANYBODY ELSE, they lie, they deceive and most of all they are continuing the same great Lebanese tradition of nepotism in FPM, just like the rest (So I do not get a thousand response saying look at Future Movement look at Joumblatt…) One more thing, you know Aoun still have not apologized for the war and its horrors, some might say it is only an apology but for me it is very important. (Surprisingly the two who did are Joumblatt – La bete noire of the Aounist- and Geagea…)

Peace

Your apologist theory about "what they thought was a trusted source" is interesting.

So do you agree that COLCO/FPM Canada is not to be trusted?

Or do you have another apologist theory?

Brazilian federal police arrested Rana Abdel Rahim Koleilat, 39, Sunday evening at the Parthenon Accor Hotel in Sao Paolo- see link below:
http://edition.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/americas/03/13/brazil.lebanon.ap/

You may remember that, back in the roaring 1990’s, Ms Koleilat was a Lebanese Mata-Hari of sorts allegedly working for various Middle-Eastern intelligence agencies.

Knowledgeable people say she had (concomitant!) love affairs with numerous Lebanese and Saudi politicians: she’s wanted by the Lebanese ministry of justice in conjunction with the “Bank Al-Madinah Scandal”, a political-financial scandal of Gargantuan proportions involving the Hariri clan and their generous Saudi backers.

Rafic Al-Hariri and King Fahd Ibn Saud are said to have used Bank Al-Madinah throughout the 1990’s as a legit financial front behind which they concealed massive money laundering and political corruption activities notably discreet cash transfers to diverse causes such as the Bush-Cheney 2000 campaign, the fundamentalist Taleban regime of Afghanistan, as well as covert funding of the anti-Asad wing of the Syrian regime led by former Vice-President A.H. Khaddam and Gen. Ghazi Kanaan…

Anyhoo, it seems this corrupt chick has finally come to roost: I hope she’ll spill the beans on the Hariri-Kanaan-Khaddam mafia triumvirate that ruled and pillaged Lebanon from 1990 to 2004

I’m starting to like “Al-Haqeeqah”!!

I believe you guys are taking these matters out of hands.

1. I dont care about Aouns past or anyone elses
2. I dont care about Aouns personal life
3. I do not wish to compare the politicians to each other.
4. I strongly disapprove of Aoun or Geagea or Franjieh or any of the warlords .. hence our past in becoming Lebanon's President... hence our future.

evilconcarne...i added the presidency part to it.. but if you guys go back and read my last comment you will see its not that i am siding with aoun... i dont want him or any one of the other war lords as president.... an opinion of a lebanese citizen

I second that!
We need new politicans...
unfortunatly one guy that we really fit to become the spearhead of this new generation of politicians was killed ( i am refering to Samir Qassir)
However just saying we need new politican wil not change anything, so i am in favor of choosing the lesser evil until a viable alternative emerges

I find the mistake kind of funny, makes me smile but I dont honestly see the link with trusting Aoun or not...he's not the webmaster of the Tayyar website as far as I know.

Anyway, I'm happy I found that collective blog :) and from what I read in the comments I'm not the most cynical guy around :)
