God Bless you Siniora

If Lebanon has a hero then it is Siniora
If Lebanon want to be a country than follow him
If we want to get out of this catastrophe THAN FOLLOW HIM and DO AS HE SAID

Immediate cease fire
The Lebanese army to the south
And I swear if Hezbollah fire one more shot or missile or even stone I will brand them the enemies of Lebanon for ever and I will fight them with all what I have!

God Bless you Siniora
You are a hell of a statesman!

This is not the point...

We will always be the weakest country in the region with no free decision...and Israel will always impose its "watever" on us...or they will bomb us to the dark ages...we are not allowed to have weapons or raise our heads....so if we surrender and be good puppies...then they will let us be!!! very sad!!!

this is too the ARAB situation....30 years since the last ISraeli war...and still we are weak, unable to fight or be respected.

Power only understands power....the USA, EUROPE and ISRAEl are thinking 1000 times before confronting IRAN because they are powerful...but since the ARABS are weak...they just keep threatening us and kicking us in the butt...and treating us as inferior...AND THAT IS THE POINT...AND THAT IS WHY WE SHOULD BE STRONG AND HOLD ON....THINGS WERE MUCH WORSE IN 1982...and i didnt see the prime minister cry...so pathetic.

I'm not with HIzbulla...but i'm with dignity and pride..and LEBANON being strong enough to deter those sons of bitches attacking us...

It's painful...yes...but it will only make us stronger...and more determined...I hate ISrael 10,000 more times than when this started...and they didnt bombard my city yet.

Oh, xylocaine and Hilal, come on! You know that hadn't the Hizballah attacked us first, none of this would have happen! Now, in this case, all you should do is stand against these bastards, and demand the release of the soldiers! We pulled back every inch of your country, and still you don't control them. We have no other choice, but to do what your government refuse to do - stop the Hizballah. We have the right to defend ourselves. Disproportionate force? Did you ever fight against fighters that hide behind civilians? there is no other way we can act, if we want to stop them.
And no, we shouldn't release any prisoner, firstly because they are murderers (did you know that Sammir Quntar smashed a little girl's head to a rock? He's devilish) and secondly because it will proof that we can be blackmailed, and it will encourage (as it already did) terrorists to keep kidnapping.
Now, I feel sorry for the Lebaneas people that are being held by the Hizballah as hostages, and it's really a twinge in my heart to read your feelings and fears, but we have fears too (which you don't give a damn about).
As for disarming Hizballah, why is that impossible? they have some 4000-5000 militants (If you're saying that they have 1,000,000 people then they're not civilians..), and obviously your army is much bigger than that. Just do it already.

At Saturday, July 15, 2006 10:27:00 PM, Blogger Israeli said...

Oh and xylocaine, so by the name of "pride and dignity" you stand by a terrorist group? Your pride's motives are totally twisted.
What pride are you talking about? The pride of smashing a girl's head to a rock? the pride of infiltrate to another country and shoot a whole family? Is that what make you "strong"? keep this in mind - you can't say that your not with Hizballah, when you don't want to disarm it for, finally, a peaceful era and a real opportunity to make big things in your beautiful country. Because you know exactly that when the Hizballah is silent, Lebanon is blossoming, and practically is a free country. Oh forgot the Syrians, do they make you proud too?
You are so brainwashed.

Dignity and pride?
How does deploying YOUR army along YOUR borders to enforce YOUR sovereignty counts as loss of dignity in your eyes?
Seriously, stop throwing slogans and tell me in what way a strong central goveronment in Lebanon would damage your pride?

And you are Absolutly right when you say Israel doesn't care about Lebanon. Israel cares about Israel (Just like Zimbabuwe cares about Zimbabuwe).
In this case, the Israeli interest is to have a quite border with Lebanon. Oddly enough that's Lebanon's interest as well.
So? Even though it's your interest as well you are willing to continue fighting just to "show them"? Just because that if it's their interest I will loose my pride? that's childish and what's worse - that will destroy your country.

About the being weak remark:
Well, obviously being strong is better than being weak, but what can you do and Lebanon is the smallest country around? It's not going to change so you better learn to live with that.
The other option is to be dragged after an Iranian religious maddog into a stupid war for....ehm yeah, remind me what is this war about?
The best way for Lebanon to be a stronger country is to start being a country. That means ONE goveronment.

Besides, there are loads of small countries who are not being bullied around and haven;t lost face to anyone.
Ask Singapore how are they doing.
Why don't you do the same?

Yes Hilal,
Israel just wanted an excuse:

An excuse to get 700 rockets on it's towns.

An excuse for the loss of the tourist season.

An excuse to spend billions on military expendetures.

An excuse to open a second front just in the time it is engaged up to its head in Gaza.

An excuse to divert the G8 summit from discussing Iran's nukes.

Yes Hilal, you are making so much sense.

I really do not understand you!
U really want Lebanon to divert 40% of its economy to build a military!
So we are strong!
It that it! Only military strength counts!
We have been there
Syria is there, have been there trying to become strong! Wrong road!!!
Become strong in your economy! In your humanity! In your economy!
And then you will become strong!!

So please do not call Sinioira’s heart wrenching call for peace shameful! Do not because it is so ungrateful and shameful! The country is being destroyed and you say that his cal is shameful! SHAME ON YOU HILAL!!!!!!
I hate violence this is not the way to become strong!
So spare me your false boast of strength! People are dying and your boast of strength and pride are responsible!
Grow up! The way of violence and counter violence lead us no where!

We want PEACE and want it NOW!!!!

"An excuse to spend billions on military expendetures"

who cares.. she wil get more money and funds from usa..

"An excuse to open a second front just in the time it is engaged up to its head in Gaza."

yeh.. it will release some pressure.. now all world is directed (supporting israel) to lebanon.. wh remembers gaza now?

"An excuse to divert the G8 summit from discussing Iran's nukes."

It is a great opportunity if iran moved a finger to proove its collaboration with hizballah.. more evdence is added to its file..

Bob, if peace is desired then the Lebanese government must be stroing enough to destroy Hezballah, or at least contain it and make sure it doesn't attack Israel. Stength is what leads to peace, in many cases. Weakness only invites Iran and Syria to use its' proxy Hezballah to ruin your country..

'Israeli' and 'someone from the other side':

Who said I don't want a central strong government and army? who said I don't want our army deployed along the border?

Many lebanese parties for several months have been negotiating with hizbullah to step down...but hizbulla refused...so a status quo was established...to resume negotiations later.

The lebanese army cannot fight with hizbullah...it would have torn the army and country apart... hizbullah are lebanese too and yes the supporters of hizbullah amount to more than a million.

Hizbullah has been classified as the 3rd power in the region after the israeli and syrian!!!

We as lebanese have been trying to avoid this confrontation with ISrael for the past 2 years...we all saw it coming...however there is nothing we could have done...and neither will israel succeed...it's a CATCH 22 situation.

Second we did free ourselves from syrian occupation and influence...i didn't forget about them...but they aren't bombing us now!!! And soon enough syria will be the one supplying us with bread and oil to withstand the israeli attacks.

"Pride and dignity" stand for being able to defend your country and having an army strong enough to protect air, land and sea.

Did you know that our obsolete lebanese army helicopters are not allowed to have any machine guns on?
Did you know that the lebanese army couldn't get any dignified weapons from USA? We have no anti aircraft or missiles to deter anybody.

Did you know that the israeli warplanes violate our airspace almost daily and that back in the sixties (before hizbulla ever existed) they bombed our airport and all our civilian planes?!

So even though hizbulla has not been dismanteld yet; Israel has already imposed on us the kind of army we are allowed to have!!!!

We're not rallying after hizbullah or their agenda...neither defending them but the Israeli army is NO ANGEL.

We are stuck in the middle of stronger fighting powers...we got a cat to get rid of the mouse..and then a dog to get rid of the cat..and then a tiger to get rid of the dog...and so on...

Finally, we do want a peaceful lebanon free of israeli, iranian, syrian ...whatever influence...and coexisting in peace with our neighbours...unfortunately Israeli have destroyed our country and just created more hatred.

At Sunday, July 16, 2006 4:31:00 AM, Blogger Israeli said...

xylocaine, think logical, how can you support the one that started the whole thing, the Hizballah?
"The lebanese army cannot fight with hizbullah"? Why don't you ask help from UN? just as you asked help from Syria back then. Your status quo is hurting us! Why should your internal problem, to control your territory should effect me?? How dare you to compromise on the account of our lives? instead of letting Hizballah stay there, you should've ask USA or the UN help to drive Hizballah away. So what if they're your Lebaneas brothers? they are criminals of the worst kind.
What do expecting us? to let Hizballah keep us hostages and release murderers everytime he invade Israel and kills and kidnap soldiers?

who is not allowing you to have machine guns on your army's helicopters?

"Israeli warplanes violate our airspace almost daily" Now, are these your concerns? do you think we doing it for fun? come on..

"back in the sixties (before hizbulla ever existed) they bombed our airport and all our civilian planes" Do you still have the nerve after terrorists from your country attack our civilians and our civil planes and our embassies around the world, to complain about our retaliation that didn't kill anyone?! (you do talk about end of 1968 right? 13 planes of arab companies.. were they "ALL YOUR civil planes?")

Think about it, if they won't agree to release the soldiers, and then after we'll finish with them, with all the destruction on both sides (get out of Hizbollah places to save your life goddamnit!), there will be no militants. your army will be on all borders, getting help from UN to prevent weapon smuggling. Syria and Iran can't create and support another militant group. (you think that Syria will attack your army? no way. especially now. US will kick them) and you will be finally a REAL free country. this time without forces like Syria and Iran to support terrorists that taking you (and us) hostages.

At Sunday, July 16, 2006 8:42:00 AM, Blogger Julie said...

I was wondering why Israel couldn't have talked to Lebanon when the soldiers were first captured and negotiated for a cross border rescue by Israeli elite forces and the Moussad? Why did they go for the path a most resistance instead of the path to least resistance first? I couldn't imagine Lebanon turning them down. And it's not as if Israel hasn't done that before. They're very good.

I just think this wasn't the only way. And the fact is, all this talk of targeted strikes is a bunch of crap. No army can do a targeted strike in a a heavily populated area with a 500 pound bomb and not have toms of civilian deaths (or collateral damage for the fans of tyargeted strikes). 500 pound bombs take out neighborhoods not houses. They can't.

JUst asking, does anyone know?

At Sunday, July 16, 2006 12:47:00 PM, Blogger Israeli said...

Julie, Israel talked with Lebanon many times about keeping Hizballah far from border, and Lebanon didn't do anything about it on the surface. We can't rescue the soldiers without knowing where are they, Lebanon doesn't know, and moreover, even if they knew Lebanon would've turn us down since it fears from cooperation with "the zionist enemy". They care too much for their Hizballah friends. Of course if Siniora would've suggest your idea (with all the intellegence he should supply) AND the disarming of Hizballah we aould've take it gladly. But anyway, they don't know where the soldiers are being held.
In that situation, this was the last straw that broke the camel's back. The Hizballah must be stoped.
The bombs hit buildings and not neighbourhoods. second, we warned civilians to get out of the civilian and militant areas that related to Hizballah.

If the shamfull remark was not for Siniora than i owe you an apology...

all what i am saying is doesn't matter who is the enemy al what matter is to stop the violence.
Siniora gave us the way. Stop Hezballah!
We as Lebanese can only influence Hezballah everything else is outside our reach!

Heed what Siniora said!
