Israeli warplanes struck Lebanese port cities, the capital Beirut and the border area near Syria, as Hezbollah launched scores of rockets from Lebanon into Israel on the fourth day of violence.
Siniora called for an immediate cease-fire and international help to stop attacks from Israel's "war machine," according to CNN's translation.
Such a ceasefire, he said, will allow Lebanon to "establish its sovereignty over all its lands" based on the 1949 armistice agreement.
"We are pained as well as angry, yet determined and patient," Siniora said, adding that "these are hours for unity, not for division."
He said Israel was "punishing all Lebanese collectively, with their actions lacking any moral or legal legitimacy."

Isn't it clear to you that Israel is not punishing all Lebanese here? They took out radar installations at the ports because they played a role in the missle attack on an Israeli ship. They have hit locations in Beirut that are known Hezballah locations. They have tried to stop Syria from sending armor in for Hexballah's defense by taking out bridges and checkpoints along the Syrian border. Overall, I'd say they have been quite restrained in their reactions to this blatant act of war by Hezballah. Hell, they even dropped leaflets asking the Lebanese people to get away from the targetted Hezballah installations. How much more generous could they be?

It's funny to hear Seniora now say that the Lebanese government is suddenly ready to control their southern territories. Why the hell didn't he do this a year ago when the whole world was watching closely the cedar revolution and would have been ready to help. It's a little late now and all of Lebanon is paying a dear price for the unwillingness of the Lebanese politicians to denounce and fight Hezballah in your country.

I'm saddened and angered by the suffering of the Lebanese people, but I'm angered at Hezballah and the Lebanese leaders, not Israel.

If they were attacking all Lebanon then there would be much more destruction, my friend. We're talking about one of the most powerful militaries in the world. Get a freaking clue.

I'm reading your blogs, aren't I? Unfortunately, Hezballah and they're minions don't just exist in the South of Lebanon, now do they?

Lebanon is indeed under attack, because it could not control Hizbolla. Lebanon is taken hostage by Hizbolla's irrational decissions. If Lebanon can't control Hizbolla, Israel will help it do exactly that.

Exactly, olegt. This was much more than an isolated attack. Hezballah has fired many hundreds of rockets into Israel in just the last few days, before the current incursion into Lebanon even started.

You Lebanese need to wake the fuck up and recognize who your real enemies are.

Sure it was planned before....

... By Hezballah!!

The Israeli soldiers that were killed and kidnapped in the original Hezballah operation that started this mess were NOT in Lebannon. That much is a fact.

The quicker Lebanon will rise up and throw Hezballah out, the quicker peace and prosperity will grow in Lebanon.

And if not, then this type of situation is what is in store...

I wouldn't be surprise if proper intelligence work kept track of the location of known Hizballah associiates, as well as a list of prefereable targets in case of emergency.

So what? It's a contingency plan.

What the hell interest would we have in wasting money on fuel, ammunitions, equipment, not to mention the priceless lives of your young men and women?

Come on, say it out loud. "Israel sacrificed 10 of its men to set a trap for Hizballah terrorists so it could blow Lebanon back into the 19th century."

Do you have any idea how absurd that sounds?

That's the kind of ludicrous "Elders of Zion" crap we used to get in 20th century europe.

Can't you see that your own government and fanatical leaders are pulling the wool over your eyes? Sending the blame elsewhere while they rob, cheat, pervert and lead your country to destruction?

The ignorance of those pretending this is some Israeli trap just amazes me. Wake up, pull your head out of your ass, and kick Hezballah out of your beautiful cxountry. They will bring you only death and ruin. Are their hospitals and social services really worth that?
