Phone Call

Roula (this and other names in the post have been changed :D) is one of my best friends, so this phone conversation was wierd, to say the least:

Me: Hey, we agreed to meet tonight. What's the plan?

Roula: Well, I'm meeting my friend Zeina for about an hour.

Me: Do I know her?

Roula: Maybe, she's a former colleague.

Me: What's she like??

Roula: She's not your style; she's a wonderful person.

Me: (Blank)

What kind of woman does she think I go for?

Hahaha! Your reputation precedes you.

Often, women who know you well do know who is and is not "your style." Sahar is incredibly accurate with me. She knows exactly what I'm looking for, even though I've never vocally spelled out a criteria.

hassan,

don't be self-centered.

i think the "she's a wonderful person" is equivalent to the phrase "she's nice" and thus reflects on "Zeina" and not on you ... if you get my gist ;)

and if you don't get it ... well, i'll explain it soon enough.

Hassan,

I'm partial to Lazarus' interpretation.

Hilal,

Sahar isn't a nickname. Hassan knows exactly who I'm talking about, and the rest of the world doesn't. HAHAHAHA!!!
We have our own secret method of communicating over blogs under the scrutiny of many prying eyes who will never figure out our identities or the identities of the people we talk about, even when we use their actual names.
To invert the Captain Planet slogan, "The Power Is Mine."

Okay, enough with the power tripping.
